Michigan is 3/3 this weekend. Let’s make it 4/4.
Playing in Russia’s top minor league, the VHL, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl won their first game since reforming after the plane crash earlier this year.
I teared up a little bit when I read about them. I’ll be rooting for them this year, and you can be damn sure I’ll root for them when they return to the KHL next year.
Potential NHL realignment.
4 divisions, top 4 teams from each division make the playoffs. Two rounds of divisional playoffs. Division champions get seeded 1-4, have a four-team playoff for the Stanley Cup. During the season, each team plays a home-and-home with every other team.
Honestly, this is the best plan ever. You need approval from 21 teams. I’d be so happy. We’ll know sometime Tuesday.
Other potential plans: Wholesale Detroit-for-Winnipeg swap. Still have Home-and-Homes. Detroit moves East.
My preferred plan if we can’t get radical realignment: Wholesale Columbus-for-Winnipeg swap.
Detroit. Springsteen. TV. The Michigan Wolverines. Other things. But mostly those four things.
